I have made direct enquires to the court house and they said that either myself (I’m in Australia) or representative would have to go there and look. If anyone knows of anyone or has used anyone’s services in this area I would be very grateful of the advice. Kindest regards Dianna

A useful resource for odd or archaic words is: A to Zax:  A Comprehensive Dictionary for Genealogists & Historians by Barbara Jean Evans.  Hearthside Press.  1995.  Third edition.  ISBN 0-945231-02-4. Indeed, there are eight different definitions of 'ordinary', three of which have to do with church / clergy, interestingly enough. Chris D. Thank you. From Henry FULLERS civil war pension file, Dr. McDonough was living at one time (at least in 1882) in California, Washington County Pa, as Henry was treated by Dr. McDonough whilst serving in the war. I was hoping to find any information on this doctor if any of his journals/diaries may have been archived somewhere. Just to add some more details to Henry Fullers story. Any help most appreciated.
