Hi Joan It has been working OK for me throughout from England but have had reports on some lists of problems from Australian and New Zealanders but that has apparently now been fixed What you report is I think the same error type message If clearing temp internet files does not help I would contact the LDS Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > For the past couple of weeks I have not be able to get any search > results from FamilySearch other than: > > > We are unable to display search results due to technical difficulties. > Please try searching again in a few minutes > > Is it just me? > > Joan Asche
Diana, I told you this and since Lynn's ISP is blocking your ISP it is up to Lynn to escalate this to her ISP and demand her messages from you or threaten to leave the ISP. One more plausible option is for you BOTH to get free webmail accounts and then you can email each other Off list to your hearts content. Try gmail. While that might work fine if they are both using the same free ISP, I DO know that Gmail, Yahoo, MSN servers routinely get blacklisted buy various Spam blacklists such as SPAMCOP. I manage several email servers and use these blacklists to help reduce the amount of spam. When we have someone complains that they can't get their emails through because their mail server is blacklisted, I have to manually whitelist that specific email. Without the use of such lists the volume of spam would be phenomenal. The reason they get blacklisted so often is the number of accounts that get hacked and used for spamming, they get "reported", and the server gets blacklisted. Then Google has to show they have "fixed" the reason for the blacklist to get removed. Laura Loding Hayes, VA

Hi Lynn Here is the reply I received this morning from Optus, it looks like neither of them want to help us Dear Dianna,, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately this is not an issue that Optus can assist you with. You will need to speak to the recipient of your email i.e. the owner of the comcast email address, and ask them to raise the issue with their internet provider. The reason you are having troubles is that Comcast have blocked email from Optus Mail Servers. Optus have no control over this, only Comcast can remove the Block for their own mail servers, so that Optus customer can send to Comacast customers. Kind Regards, Optus Technical Support So that's just great isn't it. You could forward this to comcast but I suppose they will just give us the run around. bye for now Dianna
I did contact LDS -- no reply as of yet. Message ID: 77c16.2fa321cc.3ccd59aa@aol.com In reading about how to find info about your Martha?Polly?, I had a surprise good luck through the Chenango County, New York Genealogical Society. They found a church record of a death of one of my ancestors that was in their file, so maybe you will have some luck through a county church record from long ago--my info was from 1825. Just thought that I would mention this route. HAPPY HUNTING. Hi Lynn I'm still going to try and sort this out with Optus, I tried to email them the other day and I couldn't so frustrating. To answer your question no I'm not an ex-pat born and raised Australian (6 generations) with Irish, Scottish and English background. I've been doing family history research for over 30 years now and I'm doing research into my last Irish ancestor, my convict Michael Byrne. I've helped other friends here with their families as well. I started doing research on Henry Fuller in 2010 gave it a break for a while and now I'm back in the saddle again (so to speak) with a few aches and pains I might add. If nothing I'm very persistant (must be stubborn Irish blood) and I don't like giving up. I'm doing this research for my friend Kathy because she has done so much for me and I would like to find the answer to the Henry Fuller puzzle as a gift to her. I've been talking with a professional Genealogist over there and if I have to pay some money well so be it I don't expect something for nothing. You have family in Tasmania, Kathy and I have been there twice, we were there this time last year it's so lovely there. Funny you should mention Philadelphia that's where I am searching at the moment, how funny, just in case I have to cover all my bases. Hope I can get this Optus/Comcast business sorted out. Lovely chatting with you. Dianna
My email to Shane Louis PREVOST is not getting through. Will try the ROOTS-L list. Shane, please contact me privately at two_shoes@comcast.net regarding Roland PREVOST of the Salty Dog. I have info for you on both living and desceased relatives. Cecilia

Hi Lynn I've tried to email you a couple of times and they keep coming back, haven't been able to fix the problem this end either such a shame. What I am now doing is putting the Fullers in groups from the 1850 Census, there's a group in Kiskiminetas in Co. Armstrong. There's the Jefferson County group with Rebecca Fuller, she ends up living with her daughter Caroline ALCORN in Indiana County PA. Rebecca does not appear on the 1880 Census in Indiana, so i'm checking death burial records there Then there is Fayette Co. PA group that I'm trying to finalise. Just thought I would touch base with you again and it's such a shame we can't chat directly. Kindest regards Dianna from Sydney

I am trying out the version 5 essentials software and was wondering in the process of adding information while learning the program, will I be able to transfer the added data to the full program when I decide to purchase it? I have already transferred all of my ftm-05 to this database and it was so easy. Em
ANSWER TO BELOW: John, Haven't a clue if this is your Polly Briggs but if you check "Find A Grave" in Broome County, New York you will find a listing for a Polly Briggs in Center Lisle Cemetery in Broome County, New York. She is listed as "Aged 90 yrs., 2 mos., 13 days. Date of birth is listed as July 24, 1792 and death as October 8, 1882. The 1880 Census that you found listed in Broome County, New York has her as 87 which would mean she was born circa 1792-1793. You might check if some known relatives are buried there or see if the cemetery is still a working cemetery and can give you any information. Also check with the local Library and/or Historical Society and see if they might have an obit. Don't know if New York state has death records at that time but you might check directly with Broome County and see if they possibly have a death record for Polly. Hi there, Diane here. Is it possible to ask on this list to ask for sponsorship money for a charity that I am collecting for please? I am collecting money on the JUST GIVING website. Thanks for any answers that you might be able to give to me. Diane
my apologies. I have been going back and forth between Latin and French records so much for the past 4 days that I'm getting addled. I requested a Latin translation when the record was in French. the word looks like avila, and is in reference to the relationship of a witness to the birth or baptism. my French isn't any better than my Latin, both hit and miss, mostly miss... Cornelia
NO these lists are not the place to do that. It is against Rootsweb policy and is not a genealogical query. --- On Fri, Apr 27, 2012 at 8:01 AM, Diane <dpkms20042000@yahoo.co.uk> wrote: > Hi there, Diane here. > > Is it possible to ask on this list to ask for sponsorship money for a > charity that I am collecting for please?
