    3. Hello Marce, I looked at that 1861 Census and it does match up with what you already know about the family; however, Theodore and Julius, while listed, have marks through their data and entries in the column "Members of family absent". In the column "Residence if out of limits", there is an entry for both missing males. It's difficult to read. There is a word I can't make out and underneath the word is U.C, and under that is US. I "think" that means they were members of that family but were, at that time, in the U.S. The head of the family is listed as a Teacher of Music, born in Saxony. The wife and all children except for the last one (Albert?) are listed as born in Hanover. The last one is listed as born in U.S It's unfortunate that whoever copied the Census pages didn't get all of the left side of the page showing all of the given names. Wentworth is a little over 500 miles from Philadelphia, so the family could have resided temporarily in Canada in 1861. Looking at the 1870 Census for Philadelphia, PA, there is a Joana BOETTGER, age 49, Widow; also three children, Lizzie, age 11; Frederick, age 15, and Albert, age 12. (I think the age for Lizzie is incorrect; should have been 17.) 1. [ROOTS-L] Looking for a Ship's List
    2. Hi, I am still looking for a passenger list for the ship Jacob. passenger list for the Jacob: http://www.progenealogists.com/palproject/pa/1749jacob.htm The Palatine Project has a record of the ship. The problem is that only 135 passengers are listed out of the 249. I am looking for Johann Anton and Anna Maria Elizabeth Kurtz Darter (lots of spellings ie Dotter, Doerther, etc.) and their small children Nicholas and Jacob. They are not in the 135 names and thus I need to get a complete passenger list. All of the details fit such as exit port, entrance port-Philadelphia except the complete list. Does anyone know where I can look for the complete list. I have tried the following beside The Palatine Project. Ancestry LDS Olive Tree NARA but I could not figure out how it works There must be other places. Thanks for any help that anyone can be. Velma VJSpringer@aol.com.

    3. Hi list, I may have uncovered a monkey wrench in my Boettger family who I thought arrived in Philadelphia from Hannover and stayed put. On a recent Ancestry search I found this listing under the 1861 Canada Census (spelling as listed in the search results): *OrrlebBoettger b 1816 Johanna Boettger b 1818 *Eodore Boettger b. 1839 *Ulius Boettger b. 1841 Mary Boettger b. 1843 Charles Boettger b. 1845 Elyabeth Boettger b. 1853 *Ad* Boettger b. 1855 *H?St Boettger All are listed under "township, Wentworth, Canada West." My family are: Gottlob (sometimes Gottlieb) b. 1815 Johanna b. 1818 Theodor b. 1839 Julius b. 1841 Maria b. 1843 Carl (later Charles) b. 1844 Elisabeth b. 1852 Friedrich b. 1855 Albert b. 1858 This certainly looks like it could be my family. The mother and children except for Theodor arrived in Philadelphia in December 1855. I can't find them in the 1860 census, nor can I find an arrival for the father and oldest boy. They are in Philadelphia in 1863, where I find draft registrations for the older boys, and a death certificate for the father Gottlob. He died of "acute mania," whatever that is, and it doesn't sound good. Could someone with access to the 1861 Canada census look them up for me and give me the details? That's a lot of names and dates in common to be a coincidence. Thanks in advance. Marce Aboard s/v Escape Velocity http://escapevelocity.mobi

    3. glitteringgem,   I was unable to find a death record for Martha or Sarah Elizabeth Pulliam.  What I did find and you may already know this, that Sarah married Charles Hale Dalton in 1890 and she went by the name Bessie in the Census records.  Charles Hale died in 1941 in Tennessee.   Their marriage record in 1890 did not list her father, only her mother.  What I was able to find was an Ancestry member who had Sarah Elizabeth in her tree.  She shows that Sarah Elizabeth died in 1955 in Bristol Virginia, but she does not have a source for that information.  I'd be happy to contact the member for you if you would like and see if I can find out more info.  Just let me know.            From: glitteringgem@gmail.com Subject: [ROOTS-L] Martha Pulliam To: ROOTS@rootsweb.com Message-ID:     <63801763-1341365770-cardhu_decombobulator_blackberry.rim.net-808940547-@b12.c18.bise6.blackberry>     Content-Type: text/plain I'm looking for information on Martha Pulliam's death date and burial information.
