    1. [ROOTS-L] Brick wall break through-Warnick
    2. Sandra Jacobson
    3. Shirley M. and my roots family I wanted to shout from the roof tops I’ve broken down a brick wall and found my elusive GGGrandma Eunice (Mott) Warnick. She was buried all along in the Columbus Cemetery. She is buried under a single headstone named Warnick. Not even my mom had known who was buried there. Through the burial deed record and a call to Gass Haney Funeral Home they were able to confirm her as the person in the burial plot. I would say don’t give up, the information is out there. We just don’t know who has it! Sandy J.

    3. Thanks Eliz, that was a good suggestion. Ruth Sparacio has published deed abstracts for the time period I'm interested in. I don't know if the LoV lends title through ILL but I'm going to try and find out. DO you know? I would like to research these families there but I can't find deeds abstracted in any books beyond 1778. Unfortunately the trees seem to be divided 50/50 as to whether the Oxford is in Ontario or Nova Scotia. There is one in both but nearly 1100 miles apart. Can someone provide a grave site and/or death record which would clarify this? Thanks, Stuart Price > >

If he was in jail, or the poorhouse, or wherever, and she either didn't expect him back or devoutly hoped he wouldn't be back, she might have lsited herself as a widow on the census. Widow seems to have been something of a flexible term for some people. Theresa

    1. Re: [ROOTS-L] missing census record
    2. well, I found William and Mary Barnheisel Fee in 1860, but I had to browse the census, and I had to look for them where they were in 1870. the page is illegable (fortunately someone tried to transcribe it) and some of the names are wrong, William M. Fee is understandably miss-transcribed as William McFee. one child does appear to be Lillie May instead of Nellie J., I'll have to sort that out. although the 1870 is almost as illegable as the 1860, I can see that she is Nellie J. in 1870. I hope Ancestry can improve these. I can only assume they transcribed it from an original, there's no way they could have done it from Ancestry's scan. I notified Ancestry and attached it to William. I know it's them because he's a physician, and not a farmer or blue collar laborer. 2. thank you, Eliz, oddly enough, I haven't run into much of this in my 25 years of research, and Ancestry has been known to miss some census records, usually just a page though. Niles was established in 1802, and not yet, though I did look for their births in the IGI. no luck so far. I did find them in the 1850, after all, they kept bouncing back and forth between ohio and pennsylvania.
