    2. Nivard Ovington
    3. Hi all I just went to freebmd and found the following very sad statement Kevin Howell I am sorry to have to tell you that Kevin, who was for many years FreeBMD Corrections Co-ordinator, passed away on Wednesday 23rd April. Most transcribers will have had dealings with Kevin over those years, and many more will be aware of the other work that he did on scanned source and the website. Even after stepping down, four months ago, when he was told of his prognosis, he continued to work to fix any outstanding issues on his own transcriptions, and to ensure that the areas that he was working on were left in a tidy fashion ready for a new person to take over each of them. His input to the project has been immense, and we will greatly miss his sensible, level-headed input. Once Kevin's funeral arrangements are known, I will let you all know. Dave Mayall, on Behalf of the Trustees A sad loss indeed -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)

I don't have a fix, but if you select the next or previous image (Use < 9 of 22 > at the bottom of the screen) and then return, the image will appear. I use FTM14. 3. I just made it through to http://blog.eogn.com/ and found the information below. Now, when a site moves from one server to another, there's usually an underlying change of IP numbers. The old numbers might be cached by your ISP, and until that cache expires and is refreshed (something you may have not control over), you won't be able to visit the site on its new server. (Like happened with WorldConnect recently.) All you can do is be patient, and keep trying... >From blog.eogn.com: This newsletter has been moved to a temporary host <http://blog.eogn.com/2014/04/21/this-newsletter-has-been-moved-to-a-temporary-host/> eogn <http://blog.eogn.com/author/eogn/> · April 21, 2014<http://blog.eogn.com/2014/04/21/this-newsletter-has-been-moved-to-a-temporary-host/>· This Newsletter <http://blog.eogn.com/category/this-newsletter/> · DDOS<http://blog.eogn.com/tag/ddos/>, DDOS attacks <http://blog.eogn.com/tag/ddos-attacks/>, newsletter<http://blog.eogn.com/tag/newsletter/>· No Comments <http://blog.eogn.com/2014/04/21/this-newsletter-has-been-moved-to-a-temporary-host/#comments> The hosting company where the Standard Edition newsletter runs has been receiving intermittent DDOS attacks for several days. 2. Russ Moorhouse
    3. For the past couple of weeks, when I search a family member in FTM and try to view their information that it finds, such as a US census record, all I get is a black screen where the record should be. I've written to them several times, but never get a response from them. If I go out to Ancestry and do the same search, I don't have that problem. I can live with doing it this way, but it would make it easier to be able to see the records from FTM. I'm using FTM11. However, what happened a little later last night, I have never had happen before. I had closed FTM, and a little later I thought of something I forgot to look for. I opened FTM and there before me was a family tree I had no idea who it was for, other than containing 4 or 5 Moorhouse names, one being a brother of my grandfather, I did not know any of the other people in there. They had names of Moorhouse children, born in the 50's or 60's, but neither their father or mother had the last names of Moorhouse. None of these people, other than my grandfathers brother were ever in my data, and this tree, had none of my other families in it Has anyone else ever experienced this? I've been doing this since back in the late 70's and never experienced anything like this since I sarted using FTM products they first hit the market. I could close FTM and reopen and it was still there andmine was gone. I did this several times and it always came up, rather than my tree. I did go in and pull up my latest backup of FTM and it's been OK since then Just wondered if anyone else ever had this happend and how it happened. Russ Moorhouse

    3. Not an expert to be sure. The wording after Authority is just the regulation that permitted the burial. She is buried in the National Cemeter by the authority as shown. The date of the regulation is 11 July 1952. If this is close to what you think is the burial date, it is purely coincidental. That is the way I see it. Ron Submarine Vet. 3. Thanks Ron!  I am going to give you the entire "Remarks" to see what you think. I shouldn't try to condense things, since taking portions out of context can change the entire meaning! Get lazy sometimes!  Here goes! Authority:  Para. 39 d SR 290-5-1 dtd 11 July 1952 and Ltr CG, Fort Sam Houston, Texas AKPSH-A 293 dtd 18 Nov 1953.  Grave No. 202-C reserved for husband. SFC Giroir is now on active duty. I know she died Nov 8, 1953, date of interment is shown as Nov 19, 1953.  Her previous husband died Nov 13, 1951--So I thought perhaps the July 11, 1952 might be the marriage date for her and SFC Giroir. shown in his records for adding a dependent/wife. As is obvious, I know very little about the military, so any help is greatly appreciated! In the "Remarks"(Authority for interment, pension, or claim number, disinterment, etc.) it shows: Authority: Para. 39 d SR 290-5-1 dtd 11 July 1952 Is this referring to the regulation requiring a marriage license to show her eligibility to be buried in a National Cemetery, and would this date be when she became a dependent of the soldier? I feel this is correct since this date fits into the correct time frame for this marriage. Thanks! Patsy Stevens
