    3. Hi Barton Several of us took the precaution of downloading a fresh copy of PAF before it was removed Its available from a few places For example http://www.parowansoftware.com/ You might also want to look at Ancestral Quest PAF came from the same writers as AQ and will be very familiar to a PAF user but has more bells and whistles But there is no reason that PAF should not work until and if you decide to change Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 10/05/2014 15:56, BARTON LEWIS wrote: > Although all my PAF files transferred over to the new computer, I also > need to download the software to open them with, and you can't do that > anymore, now that LDS has discontinued downloads and support for PAF. > > > Barton

    1. [ROOTS-L] Trying to locate parents for Laura Davis Camden Ontario
    2. Karen Johnston
    3. I have tried everything to locate parent names for my 2x great grandmother Laura Davis who was supposed to have been born in 1824 in Camden East Upper Canada. Laura Davis married Samuel Greatrix/ Gratrix on the 3rd of November 1851. Laura may have a sibling by the name of Matilda. Laura Davis passed away on the 8th of September 1885. I have hired a genealogist who has yet to locate records that show Laura's parents. I have also taken the FTDNA family finder and mtdna test along with the test through 23andme with no success of finding a common cousin with Laura Davis. Thank you for any help you may provide.

    1. [ROOTS-L] Early Imigratio and Its Effect on Fort Worth Program at Billy W. Sills
    2. Fritz, Suzanne
    3. Greetings, The Billy W. Sills Center for Archives/FWISD presents J'Nell Pate discussing "Early Immigration and its Effect on Fort Worth" on May 17, 2014 at 10:00 am. Please note that coffee and nibbles begin at 9:30 am. The Statue of Liberty is engraved with an Emma Lazarus poem that begins "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." And the United States is often referred to as a "melting pot" or a "salad bowl." In thinking about immigration, we remember Ellis Island, the port in Galveston, or the building of the transcontinental railroad. All of these things influenced the "face" of America. Most of us know all about the early history of immigration to America and the influence it had on us as a nation. But what do you know about immigration to Fort Worth? What was involved in this immigration, and what effect did it have on the development of Fort Worth? Join us at the Billy W. Sills Center for Archives Saturday morning, May 17, when J'NELL PATE will share stories of early immigration to Fort Worth and its effect on the culture of this fair city. Ms. Pate is retired from Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, where she taught history and government. She is the author of nine books, including Livestock Legacy: The Fort Worth Stockyards, 1887-1987 and North of the River: A Brief History of North Fort Worth. Pate has written a column on western history for her hometown newspaper, The Azle News, each week since 1968. Join us for coffee and "nibbles" beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning, May 17, 2014 10:00 to 12:00 Billy W. Sills Center for Archives/FWISD (Metro Opportunity High School, 2nd Floor) 2720 Cullen Street Fort Worth, Texas 76107 Please call 817-814-2040 or e-mail [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> for further information. 1. [ROOTS-L] Richard Elam ~1810 - ~1840 KY
    2. Marcy Dobbs
    3. I have been looking for Richard's actual death date and place and his parents for several years. He is in Wayne Co., KY 1840 census and disappears from those records after that. His children, at least those I can verify, continue in Wayne Co. living with Coffeys. There is a Benjamin in Woodford Co., 1810 . His birth date is ~1795, died in IL 1852. His daughter Polly married Thomas Collins 17 Nov 1815.In the 1810 census he has 9 kids under age 16, 5 male under 5. There is also a Burrell Elam ~1793 m Elizabeth Davis living in Wayne Co. 1850, in Metcalfe Co 1860. Burnett (or Bennett) Elam 1795 married Rachel Coffey 1797 in Wayne Co., 18 Jul 1820. They later divorced. Does anyone have these possible connections so that I can rule them out or in? Thanks for any help. Marcy
