My Grandmother was Annie Mae Romero, Daughter of Calice Romero and Lela Toney. His parents are listed as Villemont Romero and Belzire Abshire, but I do not know if that is accurate or not, and I can not find any record of Villemont in Census before 1880 and before that, I have found mention of him in the records of St, Mary Magdeline church in Vermillion Parrish, being a parrain, along with a Belzire Toups, not Abshire, in the 1850s. Does anyone know any information on this branch of the Romero tree? Thanks, Keith Melancon

My father's father was Francisco Romero of El Paso, Tx(b. 10/4/1886, d. 5/17/1963), son of Pablo and Felicitas. My father also confirmed the names of all of his aunts and uncles as listed in your message. Apolinar Provencio is still living in El Paso and has just celebrated his 100th birthday. Pablo Romero was elected Justice of the Peace in El Paso County. According to my father, he may have been the first hispanic elected official in the state of Texas. According to my father, his grandfather was assassinated. Pablo also built the Romero House on Old County Road. I hope this information helps. There can't have been many other Felicitas Provencio Romeros in El Paso who had seven children with the same names.
