A good thing to do if you have dates of birth, death is to write (or call) the State of New Mex. Bureau of Public Health in Santa Fe, New Mex. TheArchioceses of Santa Fe (Catholic) Mochoa@aol.com but you need precise place of birth. The Mormon Library is a wonderful place to start. Also, in Albuquerque they have the National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1704 4th St. SW, Alb. New Mex.-they have every record on people from New Mex. but you have go go there-at least up until 2 years ago. You might try calling and see if they have persons to look up things for you. Hello all you Romero's in New Mexico and beyond. Are there any of you who immigrated from Guadalajara or Tepatitlan de Morelos, Mexico? Or had ancestors who did? My father, Ramon Romero was born Dec. 10, 1907, in Tepatitlan de Morelos, Jal. Mexico. His parents are: Castulo Romero and Sophia de la Torre. Grandparents: Manuel Romero and Marcelina de la Torre Jose de la Torre and Elena Romero My father's siblings: Elena Romero, born 1910 Rosendo Romero, born 1904 Ramon, Elena, and Rosendo immigrated to the US as young adults. I'm not sure of the year. It was after their parents died. They stayed with family in California, moved to Kansas City, then settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Castulo Romero had a brother named Jose. Castulo and Sophia also had a son, Salvador who died either as an infant or very young. My great uncles were Adolpho and Leopold, and Aunt Beatriz. They had children named Virginia and Esther, and Esther's daughter, Esperanza. The de la Torre's owned ranches and LaSultana Gran Chocolateria in Guadalajara back in the 1940's. I have a letter my mother wrote on their stationery. Castulo Romero's brother, Jose, married Maria E. Barba, daughter of Jose W. Barba. I hope this is enough to go on. If you know anything about my family, I will be most grateful. Linda Romero

Your Gertrude and Dario does not come into my list but possibly some relationship. Embudo is about 20 miles south of Taos. Good Luck into your research.

My sister Sofia and I are wanting to find out as much as possible. Thanks for any help.
I've also found the one relative as both Emelie and Amelie. I've learned to look for both spelling variations and also to include the Emily, Emely, and Emilie in my searches.
