My father was born in Tepatitlan de Morelos, Jalisco, Mexico. His father and grandfather were from Guadalajara. I don't know anything more about them any further back from 1851. I am still researching. Good luck finding your Romero connection. If you have a brother or another direct male descendant of the Romero line, they may be interested in joining our Romero Surname Group. Or you can join by using their DNA test results. Linda

And I believe he had one surviving sibling name Yorkina Romero Oil or a last name that sounds like the word Oil. If you have any interesting info let me know. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Romero, Turner, Melancon, Trahan, Hardy, Leger and many others Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mAEBAIB/783.1 Message Board Post: Diego Romero m. Marie Morero decendents live in and around the Lafourch, Assumption area. I have done reasearch on this family because I believe this is Miguel's brother or nephew, surely not his father. Miquel was born is Castuera, Bishop of Badajoz, Spain, around 1738. Diego, born around 1751, apparently from the Canary Islands, islands off the coast of Spain, and at the time owned by Spain. Diego can be found in "1797 General Census of the Inhabitants of Valenzuela in Lafourche Parish, La." Now this is what can be found in Baton Rouge Diocese Records 1770-1803- Diegue was deceased by 1819, native of Asumption Parish, his parents were Francisco Romero and Isabelle Dezezar or Delesa. He married Marie Morero, Marrero. ***Now we can assume that Diego Romero m. Marie Morero is not Miquel's parents. Possibly a brother or nephew.

    1. LIST UPDATE PLEASE READ
    2. Joan Asche
    3. Hello all, As you probably already know the mailing lists are being moved to a new list management system. This list is scheduled the week of Sept. 2 - 8 For the exact schedule schedule and additional information see: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/migrate_sched.html. Please note that this schedule is subject to change. Each set of migrated lists has presented an unexpected and unique set of problems that needed to be worked out which has caused delays with the original schedule. A couple of things you need to know: 1. Subscribers who subscribe in both the list and digest modes using the same email address will no longer be able to do so. You may still subscribe to both but you will need to use two email address. You can always use a free Internet account such as hotmail, yahoo or gmail. 2. You should be aware that you may need to adjust your spam filters. Officially from rootsweb: <snip> The "-L" is being dropped from the "official" list name. This means the "from" address your mailing list emails come from will be slightly different- ListName@rootsweb.com vs. the current ListName-L@rootsweb.com. You may have to adjust your spam filters or put the new address on your "accept" list to prevent it from being caught in your "junk" folder. <snip> You will be able to send mail with or without the "-L" Any questions just email me at jasche45133@gmail.com Sincerely, Joan Asche List Admin
