    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: maryachtrh Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.romero/1069/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Articel appears in The Los Angeles Times, 8 April 1947 MRS. ROMERO STILL IN GRAVE CONDITION Accidentally shot early Sunday morning, Mrs. Mae Romero, 45, divorced wife of Frank Romero, former special investigator (now known as the "Barbecue King") remained in a critical condition yesterday at General Hospital. Mrs. Romero was wounded in the chest by a bullet from the revolver of Policeman Horton Putnam of the Highland Park Station, as the two were examining the gun in the kitchen of Mrs. Romero's home, 3716 McKenzie Ave. Through an error, The Times, in some of its earlier Monday editions, mistakenly identified Mrs. Romero as the divorced wife of Eddie Romero, former Police Department homicide detective. The error was corrected in later editions. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
