Census of the Cherokee Indian fron 1817 - 1924 residing East of the MS. River & includes the Guion Miller and Baker Rolls) and "Cherokee Roots, Vol 2: Western Cherokee Rolls" (Official US Gov't. Census of the Cherokee Indian fron 1851 - 1909 residing West of the MS. River & includes the Old Settler, Drennen, Dawes and Guion Miller Rolls West) The Drennen Roll 1852 is the first census of the new arrivals of 1839 - called The New Echota Treaty group - ie. "Trail of Tears" Mail orders: (704) 497-9709 - in 1995 the price of Vol. 1 was $11.98 & Vol 2 was $17.98 & I bought mine from the Univ. Book Store in Tallequah, Okla. I'm willing to do limited look-ups to see if your ancestor's name is on these rolls - but these two books only gives the name, Roll & page number where further data may be obtained by consulting the microfilm or the 8 or 9 volume set of "Cherokee By Blood" compiled by Jerry Wright Jordan from the microfilm. I'm sorry, but I do not have that set, but most genealogy rooms in local libraries usually has a set. It seems to me that there are a few web sites on the Cherokee Indians - I don't have them, but you could do a search on the net and easily find them. Good luck, Betty _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
