Generation 1 Johannes GOTTSCHALL married Magdalena (?). I don't have any information on them, but it is probable that they were born and married in Pennsylvania, though when I looked in Berks and Lancaster counties I came up with nothing. They are possibly buried in or near Miamsburg, Montgomery county, Ohio - I believe they may have moved there with their son, Joseph, and his family. I am still working on this one. Known child of Johannes and Magdalena is: i. Joseph GOTTSCHALL, b. 29 November 1811, Warwick township, Lancaster county, PA; d. 22 May 1887, Miamsburg, Montgomery county, Ohio. Generation 2 Joseph GOTTSCHALL, born 29 November 1811, married Charlotte MUSSELMAN (born 9 September 1817, Berks county, PA; d. 25 October 1900, Miamsburg, Montgomery county, Ohio) December 1834 in Pennsylvania. Charlotte is the daughter of Jacob MUSSELMAN, b. 23 November 1794 in PA, and his wife, Susannah (?) b. 3 June 1789; they were married in PA before 1817. Jacob died 15 February 1876, Susannah died 20 June 1885, both in OH. I think they might have come to Ohio near the time Joseph and Charlotte did, and probably lived nearby; they might all be buried in the same cemetery. Jacob's mother is Margaret _____; I don't have a name for his father. Children of Joseph GOTTSCHALL and Charlotte MUSSELMAN are: i. John GOTTSCHALL, b. 17 September 1836, Miami township, Montgomery county, Ohio; d. 22 August 1904 ii. Jacob GOTTSCHALL, b. 4 March 1837, Miami township, Montgomery county, Ohio; d. 17 February 1911 iii. Eliza GOTTSCHALL, b. 1839, Miami township, Montgomery county, Ohio; d. 29 June 1914 iv. Magdalena* GOTTSCHALL, b. 8 April 1843, Miamsburg, Montgomery county, Ohio; d. 31 August 1901, Salina, Saline county, Kansas. v. Infant son GOTTSCHALL, b. Aft. 31 December 1843. Generation 3 Magdalena GOTTSCHALL, born 8 April 1843, married Cyrus URMEY (b. 17 June 1836, Brookville, Montgomery county, Ohio; d. 5 October 1908, Salina, Saline county, KS) 25 October 1860 in Miamsburg, Montgomery county, Ohio. Cyrus is the son of Elizabeth URMEY-HECK (maiden name unknown); his father's name is unknown - he died when Cyrus was about 2 years old. His mother soon married Abraham HECK, and they had 9 children, all born in Jackson twnshp, Montgomery county, Ohio, between 1840 and 1858. I know the years they were born but nothing else. I am hoping to find out Elizabeth URMEY-HECK's maiden name. Children of Magdalena GOTTSCHALL and Cyrus URMEY (all but the last 2 born in Miamsburg, Montgomery county, Ohio) are: i. Claude URMEY, died as an infant. ii. Laura Agnes URMEY, b. 9 August 1860; d. 23 November 1923 iii. William Albert URMEY, b. 24 April 1862; d. 7 May 1918 iv.
