Good evening. I am looking for information on several African-American ancestors. My research has been focused mainly in Texas. A list of names, counties (where known), and time periods I'm researching are listed below. ARMSTRONG: between 1845 and 1875; county unknown; married a MCCRIMMON BROWN: between 1876 and 1906; lived in Tyler, Smith Co. when my great-grandfather, William, was born (1906) EUBANKS: between 1852 & 1882; county unknown; married a MCCRIMMON EVANS: between 1820 & 1866; 3g-grandmother (Jane) died in Navarro Co. sometime in the 1930's; married an EVANS (not related); some ancestors may have been dark-skinned Native American (unsure of spelling -- Mallick-Lassa? Mallaglassa?); another part of EVANS family lived in Ferris, Ellis Co. when great-grandfather Willie Page was born (1902) HODGE: between 1878 & 1894; lived in Garrison, Nagadoches Co. when great-grandfather Melvin Herbert, Jr. was born (1908) HOWTHORNE: between 1874 & 1890; lived in Navarro Co. when great-grandmother Florence was born (1904); married an EVANS HUGHES: between 1860 & 1908; lived in Austin, Travis Co. in 1911; lived in Taylor, Williamson Co. when my grandfather Ike Jr. was born (1916); 2g-grandfather John may have been 1/2-blood or full-blood Cherokee ISAACS/ISSACS: between 1878 & 1894; married a HODGE ISOM/ISOME: between 1862 & 1878; lived in Austin, Travis Co. when great-grandmother Sarah was born (1892); married a MCCARTHY; may have Native American blood KELLEY/KELLY: between 1880 & 1896; lived in Waxahachie, Ellis Co. when great-grandmother Annie B. was born (1910); married a BROWN MCCARTHY: between 1862 & 1878; may have been caucasian MCCRIMMON: between 1845 & 1908; lived in Laneville (county unknown) when great-grandmother Dixie Elsie Kelly was born (1908); married a HODGE Please contact me at blk3953@juno.com if you have any information or questions about my query.
