WALTER GRAY, b. 1847, Yeovil, Somerset; d. January-17-1930, Ebenezer, Queensland. Generation No. 2 2. SILAS2 GRAY (THOMAS1) was born March-27-1845 in Middle Chinnock, Somerset, England. He married JANE GARRETT. Notes for SILAS GRAY: Silas and Jane lived on the Isle of Wight until they and their children Clara and Walter Adolphus sailed to Australia with Walter and Eliza. They left London on the Storm King on February 1, 1873, arriving in Brisbane on May 3, 1873. Notes for JANE GARRETT: Sister of Eliza Garrett (Gray) who married Silas' brother Walter. WALTER2 GRAY (THOMAS1) was born 1847 in Yeovil, Somerset, and died January-17-1930 in Ebenezer, Queensland. He married (1) ELIZA GARRETT 1869 in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, England, daughter of CHARLES GARRETT and MARY-ANN HARRISS. He married (2) EMMA PARSLOE Abt. July-03-1897 in Walter Gray's residence at Mutdapilly, daughter of RICHARD SMART and EMMA KEMBLE. Notes for WALTER GRAY: Walter's brother Silas married Walter's wife Eliza's sister, Jane. Walter resided at Yeovil, Somerset, England from 1847. He is listed on the Census of 1871 as living with his wife and her parents at North Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight. Walter, Eliza and their children Mary and Joseph Robert sailed from London on 1/2/1873 as free passengers on the 'Storm King', arriving in Brisbane on May 3,1873. With them were Walter's brother Silas and Eliza's sister Jane (who were also married) and their two children, Clara and Walter Adolphus. Walter and Eliza moved to Mutdapilly, Queensland where they resided from 1874 to post-1898. Walter's occupation at this time listed as Farmer. Walter moved to Ebenezer (near Ipswich) prior to his death. Walter was buried on 18/1/1930 at Mutdapilly Cemetery. Walter married a second time to Emma Parsloe on 3/7/1893 at his Mutdapilly residence. Buried 18/1/1930 at Mutdapilly Cemetery. Notes for ELIZA GARRETT: Resided at North Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight (1871 Census) where she was living with her Parents. Moved to Mutdapilly, Fassifern, Queensland in 1898. Eliza's sister Jane married Walter's brother Silas. Eliza was buried at Mutdapilly Cemetery. Notes for EMMA PARSLOE: At the time of the marriage Emma resided at Three Mile Creek. Where is that? May have married in 1893 or 1897. At 26/11/1930 (Walter's Will indentured by Emma) Emma was living in East Ipswich. Emma was illiterate, signing documents with her "mark".
