My greatgreatgrandmother Mary (Hurst) HAMPTON died in Dade county in 1905 0r 1907 of what I have been told was TB. Her husband John Erwin HAMPTON died in 1900. I have been told by my grandmother Lorene Hampton that a kind man named Charley White took Mary Hampton into his home and cared for her until she died. I guess it caused a scandel in Greenfield at the time that two unmarried people where sharing the same house.
