She was Born Septemer 15, 1847 in SC. She was the daughter of J.T. Gregory and his wife P.A. Gregory of SC. Mr. Gregory was born c1817 and his wife was born c1820 according to 1860 Monroe Co. Census. The Gregory family moved to Monroe County from SC around 1855-58 and settled on the east side of the Tombigbee river south east ot Cotton Gin Port. Elvira died 1885 in Monroe Co. MS. They had 8 children, all born in Monroe Co. This information comes from "A History of Monroe County,Mississippi". I am interested in her as a possible sister to Pinkney Moses Gregory (1849-1907) who was born in SC and later married and had children in Monroe Co.,MS. One of his children was Paullina.
