Hi all, I think it would be a good idea if every one would post who what and when on their genealogy research. To sort of jump start our newbies and perk the old timers interest. ********************** Nadine Hensley List Owner http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nadine/index.html **********************

I have been trying for more than two years to find information on my gggggrandfather William P Hampton born Aug 8 1789 in a part of North Carolina that became Tennessee in 1796. I just received information from a cousin who is researching the same line that she has found some evidence that William's name was William Powell Hampton. This is the first hint any of us have had as to what his middle name was and hopefully will help us find the line of Hamptons that William belongs to. William was married to Malinda(maiden name unknown) born about 1792 in Virginia. William and Malinda had seven known children, John H born 1818 TN, James P born 1827 TN, William Erwin, Lemira, Mary Adeline, Mathilda, and Elizabeth. William left Tennessee around 1827 and went to McLean Co ILL. Around 1835 William went to Dade Co Missouri where he died in 1855. If anyone has any clues as to who William's parents were , what line of Hamptons he is connected to , and where in Tennessee he lived I would be very grateful for the help. Thanks for your time Jaime JLeeV196@aol.com
Dear Kathy, I have done extensive Quebec research and would be happy to help you. If we can get you back farther, we may even be related since I have some CLOUTIERS in my early lines. Do you have any place names at all for Quebec? A town or county name? Without them I am not quite sure how to locate your CLOUTIER lines. There is no province-wide index so we need some idea of the area in order to find the parish records and tie her to a family. Once we find the right parish, however this is VERY easy research since the Catholics kept very precise and informative records. You mention Canaryville but I have never heard of it. Is that in Illinois or Quebec or somewhere else? Did the second marriage take place in Quebec? Any of the children's births? Fill me in and I will see what I can do to help you locate this family.
