Hi, this is a "butter-inner" but I saw the name "Wright" and then Illinois so I had to tell you that in 1820 my Redding ancestor went to Illinois (where I lived as a child and where my father was born) from New Hampshire with a Wright. Mr. Wright was the person who identified my ancestor at the time of his death. Both families were in Schyuler Co, Bond, Montgomery and Madison Counties. I know this is a long shot, but in all my years of researching it has been long shots that have crossed one more generation. I have lots of your names in my southern lines as well as my northern lines. You might want to see my home pages at http://home.switchboard.com/billiereddinglewis and http://maxpages.com/ancestral. -----Original Message----- From: Bobbi Anderson <bobbilee@lcc.net> To: ROLL-CALL-L@rootsweb.com <ROLL-CALL-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Monday, October 18, 1999 10:16 PM Subject: [ROLL-CALL-L] WRIGHT >Helen, > My husband has Wrights in his background. I have a Burgess in Va. Would you like to compare notes? Fran
Hi, I noticed that you have 2 names that I'm searching for. Tyler and Newton. I have a Penny Tyler--died Sept. 1885 married to David Harley Newton. I think they are from S.C. I only assume this as this is where they are buried. Do these names look familiar to you? Hi Elizabeth-- Thanks for replying about your Woods. Mine was James Wood(s) who was married in Parke Co IN and came to Wapello Co. His daughter Amanda J. married into my McAlister family as the 2nd wife of Charles H. McAlister in 1867. They were in Cooke Co. TX in 1880, and in OK by 1894. I haven't found anything to suggest that any of Amanda's siblings or parents left Iowa. Our library (in NM) has a lot of Lee Co IA material, marriges, etc. and I would be happy to look in them for you. Let me know if you need Lee Co information by 9:00 tomorrow morning as I will be going to the library then. Joan

I didn't even know I was on roll-call-list. But could the listers please make sure they put the states into their county inquiries. I sometimes think I may know the names but without states to go with the counties, I'm at a loss and I go through 200 email a day and can't stop to email everyone asking for state names. Thanks, Trish
