Hi, Are your Pendergrast ancestors related to those who "ruled" Kansas City in the 1920-1940's? My friend, Larry Larsen has just published a book detailing their life and influence and the political machine they ran in Kansas City. It is receiving excellent reviews. Let me know if you need more info. Marilyn

In a message dated 98-01-17 13:33:15 EST, you write: << Anyway, again, thanks for the information. I tried to find Doty's Corners in my County Finder but it was not there. Is it still a town that I can write to? How do you suggest I get in contact with someone there? >> Hi Jean! I couldn't remember who I talked to about Doty's Crossings, but after I mentioned something about it on Roll Call to you, 3 other people contacted me. You are the only one I heard from. Since it was only outside York, Livingston County, NY, (I think 4 miles or so) that would be the only place that would know about it. I know they had their own little general store, blacksmith, etc... All owned by Doty's. I know that place doesn't exist anymore. Possibly in the 1850 Census? It was there in 1840. Good Luck Vickie
