I mean the last names of your ancestor. > ****************************************** There are Hankins families living in Newton County, AR. I know that they have been in that area over 100 years. My grandmother lived to be 101 and died in 1992. She kept in contact with a childhood friend who was a Hankins. There is a Hankins General Store at Pelsor, AR 72856. This is a very beautiful area in the Boston mountains, north of Russellville, AR and this is the only store there so, I'm sure that mail would reach them if sent General Delivery. When we go to Arkansas we always stop at Hankins to shop and enjoy the 'old time' atmosphere. I hope this will help you some way. Good luck. Mary Lea Burlison, Oklahoma City, OK

    3. Tawsha, Thanks for responding to my Hankins request. I really don't know anything about your Tina Hankins, as all my information is on the Tazewell County, Virginia Hankins family. Tazewell Co. is in the mountainous area of Virginia. The Hankins family was one of the first settlers to come into this area. Most of these families had branches who moved on westward. Usually first into Kentucky, then on to Missouri, Ilinois, etc. It is very possible that your Tina is from one of these branches. You will need to find out a little more about her probably, before we can know if she is a branch. I would be happy to keep in contact with you, and maybe we will eventually connect.
