They were living in Texas Co., MO in the 1880 census. They had several children, among whom were Nancy Jane, Jackson, Cora, Rosa, James and others. Nancy Jane was my great grandmother. She was born 9/20/1869 in Houston, MO. She married John Ricahrd JONES b. 2/17/1968 in Raymondsville, MO. Nancy and John had 10 children. George Washington Gross' father and mother may have been Frank and Florence_______ Gross. John Richard JONES father was Wesley JONES who was born in either Scotland or Ireland. I did find marriage certificate listing Hruska, but there is no question she translated Hruskova to Peary when my father was born (midwife's certificate). Until we received the midwife's information, my entire family believed her name was Pear. But, then, my grandfather translated Slepicka/Slepica to Chicken, the name I grew up with <smile>.
