    2. Generation 1 Johannes GOTTSCHALL married Magdalena (?). I don't have any information on them, but it is probable that they were born and married in Pennsylvania, though when I looked in Berks and Lancaster counties I came up with nothing. They are possibly buried in or near Miamsburg, Montgomery county, Ohio - I believe they may have moved there with their son, Joseph, and his family. I am still working on this one. 1. [ROLL-CALL-L] VAN OSDALE/VAN ARSDALE
    2. BILL/KATE
    3. I am researching my maternal grandfather's family. His name was William Joseph Vanosdale. His father's name was Tony Vanosdale. Tony had a brother named Henry Vanosdale. Tony and Henry settled in Belleville, IL in the late 1870's with their mother Mary Spaulding. At this point the information is sketchy. The father of Tony and Henry has been written as Denis Vanosdale and Bazile Vanosden. The family was said to be from New Orleans, LA and/or France. The mother's maiden name was Lapot or Luppone. She, evidently, remarried to John Spaulding. This probably occured in Tennessee. At any rate Henry was reported to be born in Tennessee according to the 1880 Census. Bazile and Mary were probably born in the early 1840's or late 1830's. Tony and Henry were born around 1860. They were coal miners as were their sons. Henry's children stayed in the Belleville area except for 2 sons who went to Los Angeles. Tony's children were Lyman, William, Thomas, Ulysses, and Pearl. Lyman, William, and Pearl changed their surnames to VAN ARSDALE between 1910 and 1920. Pearl Married Bert Kimes and settled in Springfield, IL. Lyman and William eventually settled in the Chicago area. I am especially interested in Lyman's descendants, Earl VAN ARSDALE and Marie JANES, or the VAN OSDALE/Louisianna connection. Would any descendants or people researching this line please share what they know with me?

    1. [ROLL-CALL-L] TAYLOR; Williamson Co., IL>St. Clair Co., IL>Sangamon Co., IL
    2. BILL/KATE
    3. I am looking for information about the TAYLOR family. My earliest reference is Thomas Madison TAYLOR b. April 22, 1863 in Williamson Co. IL and his sister Sarah (TAYLOR) VANOSDALE b. Dec. 6, 1860 in New Athens, IL. There were at least 3 other siblings; Frank, Joseph, and Ulysses, who were living in Kansas City, MO in 1939. Thomas Madison TAYLOR married Elizabeth RICHARDS in Springfield, IL in 1892. He died in Springfield in 1939. They had an adopted son, Edwin R. TAYLOR. Sarah married Tony VANOSDALE in Belleville, IL in 1879, and settled in Mount Olive, IL. She died in O'Fallon, IL in 1907. They had sons Lyman, Thomas, William and Ulysses; and a daughter Pearl. Pearl stayed in Springfield with Thomas Madison TAYLOR's family when her mother died. Their parents were listed as David TAYLOR and Emiline (Emily) ROMIE(S) TAYLOR. My information on them is sketchy and unverified. I would appreciate any help. Thank you Bill Bojanowski

    1. [ROLL-CALL-L] RYAN, (James, Bridget, May, and Edward J.)
    2. BILL/KATE
    3. I am trying to find information about James and Bridget (RILEY) RYAN and their children Edward J. (E.J.), born July, 1867, in New York, and Mary Lydia (Mae), born May 14, 1874, in Streator, IL. They came to LaSalle Co., IL, around 1870, probably from New York, Pennsylvania, or Florida. May married Owen KIMES and moved to the Belleville, IL, area (near St. Louis) just after 1900. Ed moved to Apopka, FL, before 1900. James supposedly died young, and Bridget, who was supposedly blind, remarried someone with a Scottish name. Nobody in the family can remember it. Any information would be appreciated. Bill Bojanowski
