    1. [ROLL-CALL-L] KING's and BARNHARTs
    2. Zachary
    3. Looking for these KINGs: If you have any formation, Please let me know... William KING was b 1825 in Indiana, his father was b. in Va...his mother was born in Conn...I do not know their names...Willliam married a woman from Ala...I have this much information from the 1900 and 1910 Texas census...William had several children, I do not know any of the names except for my gr grandfather, David Hecox KING...as you can see I have always felt that the HECOX was a maiden name that was carried over ...David was b. Dec 27, 1860...I have always been told that he was born in St. Louis, Mo...the Texas census gave Mo as the state of birth, but no town...there was a uniqueness about David in that he was a deaf mute (I have been "flammed" for this phrase...not my words, they appear on the census..actually the words were deaf and dumb, of which he was not... David and William lived together in Bandera, Bandera Co., Tx during the 1900 census ... David married (1902) Ida Jane BARNHART (also a deaf-mute) in Bandera, Tx...they had four children...Robert HORACE....John Andrew, Vida Ann, and James William...3 of the 4 children are buried within a few feet of their mother and father in Comanche Co., Tx...John is buried around Huntington Beach, Ca... William died in Texas after the 1910 census...probably buried in Erath Co., Tx...he was found in the 1910 Erath Co., Tx census...I do not know if he was widowed or divorced...David's siblings (I do not know their names) treated him as if they were ashamed of him and his condition...they should have spent time with him and they would have realized that he was truly an exceptional individual...My gr grandmother, Ida Jane (Ma KING) passed away when my mother was 12, so I have some really wonderful stories of her and some beautiful pictures of she and Pa KING ... I remember Pa KING vividly... I was 3 when he passed away in 1951...I say that in order to make the point that he was really special for a 3 yr old child to remember his so well... As I say, I have pictures of them both...they all have a very distinguishing physical feature ...their chin. That KING chin has stayed with several generations...once you see it you know that they are all related. It is a long slender chin, from the bottom lip to the tip of the chin...it is not unattractive but, does distinguish that line of KINGs... I really didn't intend to write a "book" ...Please, excuse the length...I have little to go on therefore, I tell it all!! Thank you for your reply, Linda Anderson Zachary Dublin, Texas

    1. [ROLL-CALL-L] GRAY - Somerset & IOW
    2. Diane Ryder
    3. Terry---I have a Mary Adams, daughter of Thomas Adams. The family moved around PA for over a hundred years, and did live in Somerset briefly. There are so many Adamses though, and so many confusing lines. Do you know Mary's father's name? Some of my Adamses were illiterate too, which was very common at that time since my people grew up in the frontier. My first Adams (that we know of) was Robert, who lived in Monaghan Twp. York Co in 1750. One of his sons, Samuel, was killed by Indians, and another, Solomon, escaped an Indian raid and lost everything. Their brother, Elijah, a Quaker, was my ancestor. There were hundreds of Mary Adamses in PA, but if you think her father may have been Thomas, let me know. Diane in OH
