If I'm not mistaken, Elizabeth Sickles, dau. of Robert, married Johannes deGroot of NY City. I tried tracing the various lines of descent from Zacharias Sickels, and could not find any possible Elizabeth md to John Roll. I'm still leaning toward the Strickhauser theory.
