"Inscriptions on Tombstones and Monuments in the Burying Grounds of the First Presbyterian Church and St Johns Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey 1664-1892" compiled by William Ogden Wheeler & Edmund Drake Halsey: p.242 #1687 First Pres: "CR/In memory of Catherine/widow of Abraham Roll/ who died Aug 9, 1814/in the 55th year/of her age Affliction sore long time I bore/physician's arts were vain/till God did please to give me ease/and free me from my pain." She's the only Roll in First Pres, BUT I find it interesting the person at #1686 is "SR?in memory of Samuel Rawl/who died May 27th 1813/aged 19 years 4 months/& 12 days This stone is placed in token of the respect justly due the departed by his fond mother.//While on earth I did remain/was filled with sorrow grief and pain/farewell my friends & foes likewise/my journey is beyond the skies." There are no Rolls in St Johns. If anyone has requests for lookups, I will. Just don't pick the name Crane or something else with 50+ listings! I bought the book from Family Line Publications, 800-876-6103. ---Robin
