    3. Hello Martha: Once again I am amazed at the work you have done on the ROLL's and I appreciate the information. I am actively pursuing Sickles vs. Strickhauser at this time. Barbara Barth is writing an article on the Roll's for the NY G & B which will be published next fall and would like to know the surname of Elizabeth (don't we all!). A Van Woggelum researcher approached me a couple of years ago on Barbara's behalf and I sent info then (that article will be out soon, I will scan my copy and send it out). Barbara is now on line and found Bill's home page, he referred her to me. The editors at the NY G & B demand proof. I do not have proof of John Roll's birth, does anyone? The marriage? A few years ago, another researcher, Carol Personnette Comfort found Elizabeth Strickhauser, we both had seen Elizabeth Sickles and discounted her because of the baptism record of Robbert De Groot, with father Johannes De Groot. I did not realize was that Elizabeth Sickles father was named Robert until you mentioned it a few weeks ago. I have always maintained the Strickhauser was not proved, also no one could prove Sickles either. Strickhauser made sense to us because of grandson, Baltus and daughters, Catherine and Jane. Jane possibly named for grandmother Jannetje Du Chesne and Catherine possibly for grandmother Catharina Krobel (Strickhauser). This may be one of the problems that will never be proved. I will write to the people this afternoon and maybe one of them will be able to help. Thanks again, from a shaking So Calif. ____ Nancy Lohbrunner [email protected]
