My records show that Elizabeth Strichhauser was born in 1699, so that would make her about 29 at marriage, and Jan Mangels Roll (my records show date of birth as 1700 to 1708) would make him between 20 and 28 years old, which are all reasonable. I would think that the fact that John and Elizabeth were witnesses to a baptism at the Reformed Church on Staten Island would have made a marraige record easy to find. Maybe they were married in New York City, as Balthasar seemed to have settled there. I never heard the rationale behind Elizabeth's name possibly being Sickles, so have no information to make me lean toward that.
