Audrey, If you don't find the source for the Cincinnati chairmaker, you should check if there are extant city directories for the area. These pre-phone books are fascinating because they often list head of household, street address, sometimes work address, and occupation. I've been very successful using these books. In Fall River, MA, I found my family moving all over the city, and even found a business ad for the father! I found another family in Utica, and at first I couldn't understand why the listing was under Mrs. from 1849-1853. Guess why? The husband went to the California Gold Rush! He did come back for his family! I even discovered a family in Michigan and figured out when one guy moved out of his parents' house, when he married, divorced, and married again. It's an interesting way to track a family, without waiting 10 years for the census taker to drop by. Good luck! ---Robin
