John Roll was sergeant in Capt. Peter Leyton's company of Morris County, New Jersey militia. He was born in Germany, and, in 1782, his will was probated in Morris County, N. J. John Roll, Jr., was a private in the Morris County, New Jersey militia. He was born in Germany; died in Ohio. Abiah Preston (1760-1813) served as private and boatman, the latter service on frontier of Cumberland and Cape May. He was born in New Jersey; died in Hamilton County, Ohio. Solomon Aiken, in 1777, was a private in Capt. Edmund Hodges' company, Col. Josiah Whitcomb's regiment and later served as sergeant in Col. Job Cushing's Massachusetts regiment. He was born in Brookfield, Mass.; died in Barnard, Vt. Abraham Roll (1759-1827) a patriot, furnished material aid to the Continental army. He was born in New Jersey; died in Hamilton County, Ohio. Thomas Bacon (1726-1800) commanded a company which marched in the Lexington Alarm. He was born in Wrentham, Mass.; died in Vermont.
