For your information. There is NO charge, fee, etc for any Genealogical e-mail list through ROOTSWEB. If an e-mail list sponsor asks for money, something is wrong. Rootsweb is a cooperative and if you want to support it, you can find info about it at www.rootsweb.com. When MAISER crashed last spring, several hundred lists moved to Rootsweb, these sponsors were not asked for money. Most now do support Rootsweb with money. Anyone can sponsor a list (two in fact) for $24.00 a year, this helps Rootsweb to update their machinery, but I don't think Brian and Karen (owners of Rootsweb) have turned away any list for genealogy due to a lack of funds.
