I read in a history of Ohio, that a New Jersey company advertised throughout the state for people to settle in the southwestern part of Ohio. My Smith and Cory ancestors also migrated from Essex Co., NJ, to Miami and Clark Co., Ohio (the Smith's migrated in 1814 and the Cory's in 1818).
