John was b. 1734 ? m. to Mary Nevis. His son John Jr. b 1754 ? m. to Mary Framton. The earliest records I have of this family comes from Mifflin Co. Pa 1790 census and some Rev. War Records from Cumberland Co Pa. The two Johns and their families relocated to western Pa around 1801. I have been told that John Roll Sr was a descendant of the Mangel family of NY State. I have read the results of several Roll family studies. They all claim the same connection with the Mangel family of NY. Do you have, or know of any one that has records of the Roll family move from NY to NJ, PA, and MD states? I do know of a John Roll arriving in NJ from Ger. and was a Rev. War Vet. according to DAR records. Not my Family. Thank you Dave for taking the time to read this message. I would be most grateful for any information you might have. Sincerely, Richard M. Roll RSDSC1@AOL.COM >> Richard, This is the only thing I have and it's a long shot. There was a Johannes ROLL bapt. April 4, 1734 who was the son of Johannes ROLL and Aalthe BAS who were married March 17, 1719 in the Reformed Dutch Church. Johannes ROLL was the son of Mangel Jansen ROLL and Annetje Hendriex VOLCX who were married on Oct. 9, 1692. Mangel Jansen ROLL was the son of Jan MANGELESE and Volkie JANSE. Volkie JANSE was the daughter of Pieter Adriaensen VanWOGGELUM and the daughter of the Sachem CANIACKOO. Let me know if this helps and anyone else, please join in. Dave (LI)
