    3. David, when you have some time, could you post what you have on Jan Mangels down through John Roll (1708-1778)? Many people on the Roll list descend this line and it would be good to compare with what you fathers sister did. Most of us do have the same data, but there are a couple of differences. We have a difference in the surname of the wife of John Roll (1708-1778). We do know/proved that John's wife was named Elizabeth, but we can't find proof of her surname. 3. Hi Jan, Most of the information I have on this family came from Martha Roll, July 1998, posted to the ROLL list. I did look in the notebook of compilations by Marguerite S. Roll. Sometimes I forget (duh) that I have it. Most of the information is the same, except she is missing some first names looks like she could not read something. She shows: issue of Martin V.B. ROLL 1. J_____s 2. R_____w 3. H_____l R. 4. Charles 5. Frank 6. C_____w P. 7. Lilly M. b 3 Mar 1875 Martha only had the year 8. Earl G. b 10 sep 1881; d 31 Oct 1887 9. Charles b 7 Dec 1885 10.Blanche b 1889 Martha only posted children through Lilly. Theodore Roll b 13 Mar 1856 Walter Robert Roll b 28 May 1858 Marguerite only show the death date for Earl G. as 31 Oct 1887, since he and Charles were young children, it wouldn't be surprising if they did die on the same date. I have not done any research on the Preston family. You might want to check to see if there is a Preston list at Rootsweb, join it and send a query, if you don't get a response then unsubscribe. I have done that in the past for some surnames. My memory needs to reminded every so often that I do have Marguerite's compilation. Later today, I will look further in it, but I don't think she went any further on this family. 1. [ROLL] MERSEREAU on the Web
    2. William Henry Roll
    3. Dear List Members, Searching the Web today, I discovered the following sites with interesting Mersereau information: "The Mersereau History" at <http://turnip.nbnet.nb.ca/pages/laurie/merserea.txt> has information about the Loyalist members of the Mersereau family. Recently there were some posts about these Loyalists. Perhaps this site can help clarify some of the questions. "The Angel Inn and The Beginnings of Guilford Center," New York, at <http://www.mkl.com/guilford/angel_inn.htm> has information about Joshua and John, the sons of Joshua Mersereau and Sophia La Grange. The elder Joshua's brother Jacob married Fytje Ral. "Two Teenagers Who Helped Save America" at <http://www.mkl.com/guilford/mersereau.htm> has information about Joshua Mersereau, husband of Sophia La Grange, and their sons Joshua and John. Although these items do not contain the specific proofs required for genealogical research, the information presented is useful.
