    2. Martha Roll
    3. It is nice to have the family information on Francis Sherman Roll/Elizabeth Agnes Drain. This is the brother to the man that did a lot of research on the Roll Family in the mid 1900's. It was a hard time to do genealogy. Roland Henry John Roll (Roland H. Roll) and Isaac Clifford Roll (I. Clifford Roll) worked on the genealogy for years and their work was a big help when Lynn, Janis and I started our work in the late 70's. I have admired these men for many years. They were pioneers in Genealogy Research and made it a lot easier for some of the rest of us. It is good to know that some of the family will continue with the work. Janis and I have continued information on Roland H. Roll's line if you would like to compare notes. I would rather not send it through the list since some of these people are living. That would be up to them to publish on the list but I will send it to who ever would like it through private e-mail or Janis will if I have gone back to Illinois. 1. RE: [ROLL] [ROLL-L} Martin Van Buren Roll/Abigail Preston ???
    2. Martha Roll
    3. Jan, I have added a little to the things below. I don't have much time so I can't go through the list of mail but I came across this and thought I would add what I could. I had to go to Rockford, IL about 6 weeks ago because my dad was sick. He passed away 4 weeks ago. I've been staying with my mother but had to come home for a funeral of a long time family friend. It will be tomorrow and I will leave Sunday again for Rockford. I will try to check the mail now and then to help with what I can but it is a busy time it seems. I hope the group is doing well. Martha Hi all- Would appreciate anyone giving me an update on this line as I am not sure how the records should read. Is anyone working on the Preston line below? Have someone interested in making a connection. I show that Martin Van Buren Roll and Abigail Preston had seven (or ten) children. Questioning the last three might be grandchildren? Not sure of a couple dates of birth/death and full names or spouses. Jan Have : 1. Theodore b. 13 mar 1856, d. 24 apr 1928. m. E_Hurley. Married 09/28/1882 2. 3. Frank and David, Thank you for sending the information on your family lines to the Roll list. Francis Sherman Roll came from what we on the list refer to as the Dutch line. (There are French, German and Swiss Roll/Rall, all spellings, researchers on the list.) When you have time, check out the url's in the tag lines at the bottom of each Roll message, most of them have the Dutch Rolls. (If anyone else has a web page, please let me know and I will put your url in a tag line.) We have data going back to Jan Mangels, also have information on Jan's wife and her family, the Van Woggelum's. David, I believe you mentioned an aunt did some research and also went back to Jan Mangels. I will post what I have at a later time and you can compare. We welcome corrections and additions. We do have a few differences that we cannot prove as yet, ie, the surname of the wife of John Roll (1708). We can prove his wife was named Elizabeth, but no one has further proof. We do have a couple of possible surnames. There is a VAN WOGGELUM surname list at Rootsweb, sponsored by Bill Roll (on our list). If you are interested in subscribing, send e-mail to VANWOGGELUM-L-request@rootsweb.com put subscribe in the body of the message, nothing else is needed.
