I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Mag ROHR which was taken at the Moser Studio in Decatur, IN. The photograph is of a couple, though only the woman is identified and appears to have been taken in the 1890's with both appearing to be in their 40's or 50's at the time the photograph was taken. I don't know if ROHR is her maiden name or married name, could be either since the man is not specifically identified. I'm hoping to locate someone from this ROHR Family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. The local German newspapers published an item announcing the Rohr & Heuser wedding, followed by an item about the wedding event (includes names of guests). About 25 years later Louise (Heuser) Rohr's death notices are also found in these papers. This info. comes from the collection: "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950). Wilmot and Blenheim? There is a Valentine Rohr (who I believe belongs to "your" family) that lived in Blehneim. My Rohr's came from Otterstadt, Rhineland Pfalz, Germany. I have traced my line back to a Ludovici Rohr b in the late 1600's. I cannot find any further birth info for Ludovici, and have wondered if he might have been Swiss, especially when I saw that Samuel lived in such close proximity. And one of my Hacht relatives was born in Wilmot. . . She wrote a letter telling of some of her childhood memories. She was born in Michigan and she said her dad work on the first railroads in Illinois. Two of their children died at sea on the way over. His birthday was March 14 but she didn't remember the year. She said her mom died when she was two and grandma was born in 1886.
