ROGERS, WILLIS posted by Hugh Rodgers on Monday, February 19, 2001 Seeking location, parents/siblings of John Burton ROGERS who was born in GA in the period 1825-1835. Later removed to AL. He married Mary Ann WILLIS and had one son, John Griffin Rogers. He died in the Civil War. Any clues appreciated. My Grandfather's name was Marion Willis Ro/d/gers and his youngest son was John Burton Rogers. I am reaching but this looks too good not to try! Isn't family fun! Fran

My grandfather was Parm August Rod/g/ers, I do not know where he was born, or who his parents are, its odd thou, because i have one uncle with the name of John Willis Rod/g/ers, and one named Hugh Denny Rod/g/ers......I will tell you what I know about Parm,.. He was born oct.20 1879 theres some confusion as to where , one census says Indiana, one says Tennessee... in 1900 he shows up in the Gallatin County Illinois census , he is a border in a home....he is a laborer, in 1904 he married my grandmother Naomia Ann Wilkins, on august 17 1904 to be exact...she is the daughter of John D Wilkins, and Margaret Maneurva Hazzard Willkins, both of them born in 1852 in Kentucky.... Parm and Naomia had 7 children Margaret Ann Rodgers born Oct.11 1905,born Illinois John Willis Rodgers born Aug.7 1909 some time between 1905 and 1909 Parm And Naomia, and John, and Margaret all move to Oran Missouri Scott county....John was born in Missouri....Parm is working at the flour mill and they are living in the mill houses in Oran, Missouri....Lawrence Thomas Rodgers was born Aug 13 1913, Virginia Rodgers was born August 13 1916 Jessie Gordon Rodgers, born Feb 21,1921 my father Hugh Denny Rodgers born July 2,1927 Paul Dewayne Rodgers born Feb 10 1929 the last six children were all born in Oran, MIssouri Parm, dies on Jan.12 1934 he is buried in the Sikeston City Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri Sometime in the 1930's they move to Sikeston, Missouri, the Wilkins also move there.... Naomia Ann Wilkins Rodgers dies Feb 8 1955 she is buried at the Sikeston City Cemetery also.in Sikeston, mo.... As of this date three of the seven children are deceased...John Willis Rodgers died March 3, 1981 in Arizonia, and is buried there.... Margaret Ann Rodgers Harris Lewis, died sometime in the 1980-1990 we are not sure when, she was living in Memphis Tennessee when she died...her son did not notify us, and i am still trying to find out for sure, there is no way of contacting him...he has an unlisted telephone numbers Jessie Gordon Rodgers/Rogers died Feb 15,2003 I hope some of this info helps you, I would be intrested in what you have....the names Willis and Hugh are pretty unusual....so maybe we are cousins... One more thing on Parm and Naomia's marriage license the last name is spelled Rodgers,...and all of there childrens birth certificates spell it Rodgers, but at sometime between 1900and 1920 it is dropped from Parms name.....
