My ancestry of Rodgers and Rogers (both spellings) for the same family from Lisburn and also Carnmoney,Antrim, Ireland. The first couple in Lisburn is George Rogers who married a Dorothea Hull. He was born about 1634. They were married about 1658. They had a son named Thomsa Rogers who was born 28 Dec 1660 Lisburn. I do not know his wife's name. They were the parents of John Rodgers b. abt 1686 of Lisburn who married a Agnes Dick who were Presbyterians who moved to the Carnmoney, Antrim ,Ire. area and beacme members of the Presbyterian Church there. They were the parents of only one child. William Rodgers or Rogers who was chr.12 Jul 1712 in Carnmoney. He married two women named Jennie Walker and also Mary Burney. Betwween these two wives he was the father of 23 children..this is not a typo...23 children with the surname of Rodgers and or Rogers..in the Carnmoney area..only 9 were recorded according to the PRONI. That leaves alot of missing children to find. The ones that I do know and can prove are: Samuel, Samuel,John, Agnes, John, Patrick, Annis. I have their christening dates that start about 1738 to 1767. It is difficult to know who the mother was to any of these children. I have gone to the LDS site and someone submitted some entries saying that they thought William Rodgers had married Mary Burney about 1734.? There is someone at rootsweb who thinks my William Rodgers is a William Thomas Rogers and married to a Jane or Jean Hamilton and lived in Phila,PA and died 1763. My William stayed in Carnmoney until atleast 1767 when the dau Annis was born...does anyone know anything about this line of ancestry that I have? My information is from the McKinney notebooks at the PRONI. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
