Konnie, I do NOT believe that there is any connection of the Doswell family at all to the Dowdswell family. We visited with the Doswell family in VA and got their genealogy. This supposed professional genealogist was the one who created this myth. I bought this Rogers book thinking that he had found the connection because he used it as HIS documentation. We talked to him personally in Richmond at the Archives. We then discovered that we knew more than he did about Doswell. I have since sent a correction to the library where his papers are stating that he had made a giant MISTAKE on my family tree trying to connect them to the Dowdswell family of England instead of the Doswell family of VA. What Chan found will have be disputed with some heavy duty documentation. I don't think that anyone will ever be able to refute this theory. There is just too much circumstancial evidence pointing to Catherine Doswell as Doswell's mother. I have added even more evidence since April because I am profiling all of the Adenstone and Doswell Rogers who lead back into Lee/Scott Cos. VA, Hawkins Co. TN, and down into the Sequatchie Valley to Hamilton Co.TN.
