I cannot verify that your Simeon is the son of William Rogers, Jr. but if he is, he is most likely the great-grandson of a John Rogers who died in Fairfield Co.,SC in 1790 (leaving a will). Rogers, I just recently learned that he may have come from Union Co., SC and was possibly the s/o William A. Rogers, Jr. (although a listing from Rootsweb.com does not show him.) Simeon was b. 1804 SC. From the Pickens famiy history, I see that he was an overseer on Col Robert Pickens' estate in Three & Twenty, Anderson Co. SC. He married the d/o Col Robert and Martha (Patty) Smith Pickens, Margaret (Peggy) Pickens in 1832. Peggy was b.1816. About 1844, Simeon and Peggy moved to Forsyth Co. GA where I find they are buried in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Simeon d. 1896 and Peggy in 1915. Simeon and Peggy had 11 children: Nancy S. (1833-1845) William Jefferson (1836-1864) Mary Ann (1838-1921) Robert Pickens (1840-1920) Martha I. (1842- Sara S. (1844-1944) - Aunt Sallie lived to be over 100. James O. (1846- Margaret E (1848-1913) Julia A. (1850-1942) Emeline Franklin (1853-1918) - This is my line. Emeline married Seaborn Madison Westbrook and moved to Cherokee Co. GA Levi Wesley (1854-1890) After searching for many years, I am hopeful that someone has run across my Simeon and can help me verify his parents. I would appreciate any leads.
