I have some information on some of these people, but not on all. What followeth here was written in my Honor’d Father’s Bible Viz. – Joseph Rogers was Married to Dorothy Wood 16 March 1726. Mary Rogers was Born Octr 4th 1730 wrong it was 25th Jany Joseph Rogers was Born Octr 4th 1730 Elizabeth Rogers was born January 4th 1733 and died August 29th 1735 John Rogers was Born June 16th 1736 Constant Rogers was Born Octr 15 1738 Abigail Rogers was born Aug 20th 1740 and died Sep 20th 17 (paper torn) Elizabeth Rogers was Born May 4th 1743 in Middletown in Connecticut all above written were born at Newport in Rhode Island I wrote this on New years day at night 1743/4 This being in the fortieth year of my age til the 15 of may next by Account my wife now 37 years of age Dec 11th past part Abigail Rogers was born April 10th 1745 at half after 6 A.M. Samuel Rogers was born Feby 19th 1748 on Friday at 4 O’clock afternoon Elnathan Rogers was born May 9th 1752 Our Honor’d Father Joseph Rogers Died Sep. 16 1751/AE 47 Abigail Rogers died Sepr 30th 1753 AE 9 years Joseph Rogers was lost at sea with Capt Edward Johnson on his passage from Surrinam which place he left 4 Feb’y 1756 Constant Rogers was unfortunately drowned on Saybrook Ban(k) (paper torn) being bound on a Voyage to the West India. Aged 19 years it was on the 23 Dec. 1757 Our Honored Mother Dorothy Rogers died July 29 1777 Aged 72 years Here is something Copied from the said Bible wrote by our (page torn) Viz. May 1750 this found written on my Mother’s Grav (page torn) Elizabeth Rogers aged about 27 years died May 2 (page torn) in Tiverton my Honor’d Father lies Inter’d at Newport DiedOctr 1711 whose Memory for a long time will be precious (On page after last page of Zechariah) John Rogers was married to Patie (nce? Page torn but lead pencil note in Annie Laura (Benjamin) Price’s handwriting says “Miller”) Novr 22nd 1757 by the Revernd Mr. William (---gg-rd? page torn) John Rogers was Born Sept 18th 1758 on Monday 9th PM Abigail Rogers was Born January 28th 1762 on Thursday Joseph Rogers was Born May 5th 1764 Timothy Rogers was Born March 3rd at 10 AM 1766 on Monday Constant and Patience Rogers was Born the 22nd Apl 1768 on a Friday both at a birth William Rogers was Born July 26th 1770 on Thursday at 10 in the Morning A son born 25th July and Died ye 28th July ye 3 day after born Hannah Rogers was Born May 4th 1774 on Wednesday at 4 Oclock PM Fanny Rogers was born March 24th 1778 on a Tuesday at 11 OClock at Night Joseph Rogers Died Decr 25th 1783 at Oroyer in High Spinola Hannah Rogers Died Nov 22nd 1793 aged 19 ½ years on Friday at about 6 OClock much lamented by all that were acquainted with her (On back of first page) March 27th 1805 This day received the malluncoly account of the death of my son John Rogers he fell overboard and was drowned on the Coast of Carolina on the first day of this month at 8 OClock in the morning O sad news to relate may God be pleased to Sanctify this bereaving Stroke of his providence to all our family and while we call to remembrance his good and amiable disposition and the many kind offices received from him and how much depressed we are in our future hopes and expectations and now he is no more may his memory be precious to us as life lasts August 25 1807 My beloved wife died at 6 OClock afternoon September 15th 1808 John Rogers was married to Elizabeth Whitnnor by the Revd Enoch Huntington on a Wednesday and she died the 15th Feby following aged 67 years much lamented (On the back of the second page) Timothy Lowis was Married to Patience Rogers Aug 25th 1803 Timothy Lomis was born Sepr 16th 1804 on Sunday night about one OClock William Lomis was born in Storrington on June 10th AD 1808
