Surnames: Rodgers Brightman Stapleton Ducksberry Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EkDBAIB/4899.2.1 Message Board Post: My fathers given name was Benjamin Harrison Rodgers, Jr., b July 1923 son of Benjamin Harrison Rodgers Sr. b.approx 1880, mother of Bob, was Viola Brightman.They both show up in the 1930 consensus, my father, age 6, living in Los Angeles with Viola and a step-father Owen, step-sister Gracie 18 at that time, and an uncle, and Benjamin Sr. living in Kentucky with a different wife named Bessie, no children at that time. Later my father had his name legally changed to Bob Harrison Rodgers, not quite sure why. He always said his grandmother was 1/2 Cherokee Indian. I just thought it was another story, but now it may have some truth to it.
