AVIS ROGERS was d/o THOMAS ROGERS s/o JAMES and ELIZABETH ROGERS. ELIZABETH ROGERS of Richmond,Rhode Island wrote her LWT dated 31 January 1773. To daughter SUSANNAH BRAND,Widow woman; To Grand daughter AVIS ROGERS d/o son THOMAS ROGERS; to the rest of my children: JOHN, JAMES, JOSEPH, ROBERT, SAMUEL, STEPHEN, and HARPER. Son HARPER as Executor. She signed by X. Witnesses: EZEKIAL JAMES and RICHARD BAILEY Jun. Probated 16 September 1773. This is on Page 120Vol. 2 of Richmond Town Records. On page 122 there is also the info that the council voted to bring in STEPHEN ROGERS from Lebanon,Windham County,Conn. to see if he has any assetts of his mother. On page 125,STEPHEN ROGERS testified on what he had of his mother's estate. AVIS ROGERS of Richmond married THOMAS ROGERS of Brookfield,New York on 10 December 1797 by JAMES POTTER,Justice. ( This gets confusing. AVIS ROGERS d/o THOMAS ROGERS married THOMAS ROGERS. ) The line goes like this: ELIZABETH w/o JAMES ROGERS,s/o JAMES ROGERS,s/o THOMAS and SARAH ROGERS,THOMAS ROGERS s/o JAMES and MARY. I have more on these ROGERS. HARPER ROGERS s/o JAMES and ELIZABETH moved to Rensselaer County,NY. He had sons DANIEL and HARPER and daughter SUSANNAH. My wifes ancestor ISAAC ROGERS also moved from Rhode Island to Hoosick,Rensselaer County and then moved to Adams,Jefferson County,NY where he died ca. 1846.
