Any information or leads you could provide would be very appreciated. My great great grandparents: JOSEPH P. ROGERS born: June 1854, Terceiro, Azores His arrival date is variously listed on U.S. census records as 1871 or 1872, and naturalization as 1889 or 1890. MAURIE ROGERS born: about 1859, Fayal, Azores Her arrival date is listed in the 1910 U.S. census as 1865, but then on the 1920 census she lists an arrival date of 1871 and a naturalization date of 1889. On the 1930 census, arrival date = 1975 and it says that she and Joseph were never naturalized. Their daughter, who is my great grandmother: ISABEL ROGERS [EMERY] FREETHY born: August 1891, possibly in Terceiro Azores and died about 9 Feb 1962 in East Boston, Mass. Isabel has two siblings: JOSEPH P. Born: Dec. 1875 in Massachusetts. He was a stationer who at one time worked at the YMCA. On his WWI draft registration card it says that he fractured his back and has a palsy. MARY O.: Born Nov. 1884 in Mass. She married EDWARD LYONS (1907 - ) who was a motion picture projectionist, and had at least two children, EDWARD(1907- ) and FLOYD(1913). The 1920 census places this family in Wilmington with her under the name "OLIVE LYONS" (I'm pretty sure this is her but not 100% positive). Isabel's daughter (my grandmother): THELMA [Rogers] [Emery] Mathison born: 9 Feb, 1913, Boston Mass death: 13 August 1996, Boston MA Lived in East Boston, Mass Married ANDREW MATHISON (1908-1967) of Norwegian heritage Four Children: DONALD (1936-2001), CLAIRE (abt 1942- ), GARY (abt. 1949 - ), and Joyce (1944-) [my mother]. Any clues you can provide would be most appreciated. The "ROGERS" name is probably a name change -- possibly from RODRIGUES but there unfortunately is no surviving documentation of this.
