Mauricia Severina/Zeverina this is the first and second name of the wife of Jose P Rocha. It is not usual for a Portuguese female to be known by a last name but as either "daughter of" or "wife of" or "widow of." The differnce between the Z and S is that the Z is the older usage, the S more common by 1900. The 1893 date is when Severina re-entered the US for the 2d time with her two children. She was 1st in USA sometime before DEC 1875 whgen she gave birth in Boston, MA, USA to her son Joseph ROGERS. Since Jose P Da Rocha was a sailor, it is likely that he made multiple trips to the Azores and may have married Mauricia in Faial and brought her to USA himself.
