There must be someone out there that has information regarding JOSEPH M. ROGERS. Jan Tripp, of the Washtenaw County Genealogical Society did research for me regarding JOSEPH and sent the following. JOSEPH was born in Palmyra, Wayne County, New York in 1805. He married JULIA SHEFFIELD (dau. of CHRISTOPHER SHEFFIELD and MARY MURPHY), born Saratoga Springs, NY. JULIA and JOSEPH were married in Lyons, NY on October 6, 1836 at the Lyons Presbyterian Church. Witnesses were Robert Ennis and Abel Lyman. GABRIEL ROGERS was a trustee of the Lyons Presbyterian Church from about 1813 to 1818. JOSEPH AND JULIA were in Michigan by 1844 where JOSEPH had grist mills. He was joined by his brother (possibly twin) THOMAS H. ROGERS and they possibly had mills together. They lived in Geddesburg, now a part of Ann Arbor, Michigan. At the wedding of one of JOSEPH'S children, a WILLIAM H. ROGERS was a guest from California. (another brother??) JOSEPH died in 1873-1883. JULIA died in 1904. Children of JULIA and JOSEPH: EMMA, b. 1839 in Lyons, New York, HARRIET, b. 1842 in New York, THEODORE, b. 1846 in Michigan, HELEN, b. 1846 in Michigan, CLARA, b, 1848, Geddesburg, Michigan, GEORGINA B. 1851, JOSEPH MILES, b. 1853, MARK GEORGE, B. 1856. Hopefully, someone may have some clues as to the parentage of Joseph. Is it Gabriel? Thanks, Dorothy Hagerty
