Gabriel Rogers had a tannery in early Palmyra, NY. In 1804 he married the daughter of Samuel Clark. In 1809 he moved to Lyons, NY. where he purchased the tannery of William Bond. In 1817 he sold the tannery and moved to South Sodus where he was the first postmaster. e served in the cavalry in the war of 1812 and died in 1847.
