My late husband, Ralph Rogers Wheeler, b. 11/1/1917, d. 1/27/2004, was gggrandson of Thomas Rogers, b. ca 1770 in Bertie Co, NC, m. Jane Hampton in Bertie Co, NC. Thomas Rogers was in 1790 U.S. Census, for Spartenburg, SC, as was Robert Rogers, possibly a brother, then to Bedford Co, TN, probably after 1806, with known children Nancy, Richard Hampton, Thomas, William, and Minnie. While in Bedford Co, Nancy married John McGuire, and they moved to Fayette or Tuscaloosa Co, AL with Thomas and the rest of the family. They were already in AL in 1819 when it became a state. I have lots of information about Rogers' families, most which I got on the internet, and can not authenticate most of it. I have some I received from you several years ago. I'll have to read back through all the information and see is there is any mention of connection to Joseph Rogers. There was information about Robert and Thomas \, brothers, both born in Bertie Co, being mentioned in a will and about owning land on Bear Creek. I'll have to locate it again.
