A recent issue of Rogers Digest had information on a Rogers family in Tennessee early 1800s. I am also working on a Thomas Rogers b. (probably) NC 1790s who m. Sookie Jennings and was "somewhere" in Tennessee when first child b. Jan 1815. Moved to Illinois in time for 1830 census. It seems doubtful now that we will ever find solid evidence to reliably tie together or separate conclusively the many Rogers families who were in Tennessee 1790-1820 and later spread out into many other states. However, if we can find direct male line descendents of those guys, we may be able to connect or separate them with Y-chromosome DNA. I encourage Rogers researchers to seek out a male surname Rogers descendent of their early known Rogers ancestor and persuade them to get a DNA screening. Ray
