Publication: Chicago : Inter-state Publishing Co., 1881) states that daughter Sarah L lives in New York so in the 1880 census, that would probably be the place to look. She may have come back to Michigan to care for her mother, or to be with her family just before she died. In the Sheridan, Calhoun Co., Michigan 1850 U.S. census, Sarah (age 20) was not with her family, so she might have been married in Calhoun Co. instead of Jackson Co., Michigan.
