While doing family research some years ago someone sent me several pages of Rogers data beginning with Giles Rogers of Scotland 1643/1645 who died in King and Queen Cp VA ca 1730....his wife is listed a Rachel Eastham 1643 England died 1735 VA. This Giles was son of John Rogers, 1611Warwich Co. England to 1680 Duxbury, Plymouth, MA. John married 1641 Worcester, Eng 1641 to Lucy Iverson...... Someone sent me a printed "pedigree ??" in March 2000....This listing starts with a John Fitzroger b 1335 England...Another such pedigree in 2000 shows a Giles Rogers Sr as Generation 4 with a dob of 1643 or 1645 born Edinburg Scotland who married a Rachel Eastham b Berkshire, England....his paragraph includes a note that Giles Sr, wife Rachel, dau Lucy, 2 sons Giles Jr and Peter, and a son born at sea aboard ship "Bay".....Giles Sr owned ship(s) and brought servants, laborers, materials for constructing buildings to America in 1680....They bought 475 acres New Kent County, VA....Rachel lived on this land with son John wife Mary Byrd until at least 1750..... Hal, does this info give a source for Mary Byrd being the wife of John Rogers, son of Giles, Sr.? There seems to be much controversy over this. John is supposedly the son born aboard ship.
